Dog Days of Summer

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to Dog Days of Summer Dog Walk on Saturday! It was a really fun event organized by the Great Harvest Bread Company in Smyrna in support of Atlanta Pet Rescue and the turnout was amazing — I couldn’t believe how many people were awake and ready to go that early on a dreary Saturday morning!

Luckily, we did not get rained out and I think everyone had a fantastic time. I’m just sorry I didn’t have time to chat with everyone I wanted to; I was running around like a headless chicken trying to get to as many dogs as I could, but I know I didn’t, so if I missed you — I’m sorry! All the images I have are now posted online and will be up for the month of September. Find your pup! I have tried to group any multiple images I have of the same dog together for your convenience. Also, if you mark any as favorites, the system will save them for you when you log back in.

Some photos will also be posted at the Great Harvest Bread Company so you can vote on your favorite pups, and below are a few of my favorites from the day. Thanks again to everyone who came out!

Once we arrived at the park after the walk, there were yummy treats for everyone from Great Harvest, and awesome trainer Amber Burckhalter from K-9 Coach was there to give everyone a short lesson.

Probably one of my favorites from the day is below, the bottom right image — how awesome is that pup?! A smile into the camera AND a high-five!!

And you know I had to sneak one of Becks in. He rarely gets to come to events with me, but I begged poor Corey so much that he couldn’t stand it and finally relented and brought him. (Sienna has a lot of other-dog issues so she had to stay home.) We were so proud of how well he did (with one minor exception) since he definitely needs the socialization after living with Sienna the Terror for so long. :p Yay Beck-o!

nick - Haha looks like a very hactic time for you :) Glad it was fun though!

Alexa - I just love that second shot. Pictures of Dogs cocking their heads are always on the top of my favorites list though! And of course, doggie tongues!! :) Great shots as always Leesia! Love them all!

Simon - And for the soundtrack, may I suggest: Florence + The Machine – Dog Days Are Over: http://open.spotify.com/track/4Jm1ZaOPZcVb2UGvYqR7W0

claire - aw, yay for becks!

myboyzach - great harvest treats for all (I hope)….great dog biscuits and yummy people bread !!! Although zach will go for the people bread and leave me the dog biscuits.

ps–hope you brought some home for sienna !!!

Yvonne - What a handsome boy is little Becks. Love those toes pointing out, like a ballerina. So many cute doggies, should have taken my kids.
