Staci, Annie, Sampson, Bambi & Karli

This gorgeous family of five was seriously impressive — you would expect a little bit of controlled chaos when a stranger first walks through the door with five dogs all around 70-100 pounds each…but this pack is so well-behaved that after a couple barks from watchdog Sampson, there’s nothing but polite sniffing and greeting — no jumping, NOTHING! I was totally amazed. (We have three, all under 40 pounds, and door greetings are a disaster in our house!)

Four of them are CGC certified — newest addition Karli was just added last week as a 9-month-old puppy and will be preparing for confirmation when she finishes growing. Needless to say, everyone is incredibly attentive to their dad and extremely well-trained. Even with four females, this pack is perfectly harmonious and they can all sleep, play and eat next to each other with no scuffles.

Sampson and Karli are the first Anatolian Shepherds I’ve photographed (2 years and 9 months old respectively), and the other three are rescues: Annie is a 4-year-old English Pointer, Bambi a 2-year-old Doberman, and Staci a 5-year-old Anatolian/Husky mix. This session was a gift for Jeff’s birthday, which is today, so Happy Birthday, Jeff! Hope you love the sneak peek!

Eleanor: Part III

Sweet bulldog Eleanor is all grown up! I first met her when she was 10 weeks old, then visited again when she was six months old. Now she’s nearly TWO — can you believe it?!

She is the star of her neighborhood — everyone stops to say hello and visit with her, and at the dog park she was greeted by a past client of mine who recognized her from this blog! I’ve heard some say that bulldogs are infinitely cuter as puppies and then lose a good bit of that when they’re adults, but with Eleanor this is definitely not the case. I don’t know if it’s her hilarious expressions, those adorable freckled lips, or that crazy tongue…but she is still as adorable as ever!

Liz - oh my goodness these are awesome!! Love the colour and the puppy is adorable!!

Wet Nose Fotos - Has to be one of my all time favourite sneak peeks Leesia!!

myra creighton - love the one on the bed

Danielle - These are too sweet – you made me smile on a Monday morning just looking through her photos. Wonderful job, as always!

Trude - OMG that personality!! And those sweet little ears and paws. You captured her perfectly, I couldn’t help but laugh to myself. :)

illona - love ‘em! love all of ‘em!

aren’t bulldogs the best to shoot?

Joni Solis - OMG! What faces this bully girl makes. LOVE these photos!

Winnie Forbes - What’s not to love about her? Love them all Leesia.

Catherine Hardy - Best post by far! I love your work in this one. Made my day so much brighter and I couldn’t stop laughing. Great work!!

sarah - it’s SO awesome that you got to see her grow up! and she’s definitely cute now, but i do have to agree that there’s nothing much that beats a bulldog puppy :)

Elizabeth - My favorite subject ever!! She is just a stunning girl! Great Job Leesia!!

Michele - OMG … I love the one on the bed! Who doesn’t love a bulldog??? Well … I guess GA Tech fans … but whatever!

Rufus

Rufus was recently adopted from Atlanta Pet Rescue and is a complete and total goofball who won my heart in a matter of minutes. Like most boxers, he has a wonderfully expressive face and a vertical leap that could challenge a professional athlete’s. Simply put, he was born to be in front of the camera and was a dream to photograph!

He is the most recent addition to a family I photographed over three years ago — I snuck a couple in of Tonka and Dixie, his older brother and sister who have taken to him quite easily despite their size differences. (I love that I’ve now been doing this so long that I get to follow dog families as they change and grow!)

Enjoy!

Tonka is a wizened old man, another APR alum who was featured in the very first APR calendar as Mr. December!

And sweet, shy Dixie:

Cathy - I loved Drew/Rufus dearly when he was at APR. I am thrilled that he found such an amazing family. I can see how thoroughly thrilled he is with his new life! I’d love to see him on APR’s calendar, too – the third one is GREAT. Leesia, you are awesome at what you do!

Michele - LOVE THIS DOG! So glad that Drew/Rufus found a fantastic home! He was getting overlooked at the shelter because of his exuberance for life … but this family seems to love it and thrive off of it! How awesome! I see some calendar contenders in here! My vote is either for #3 or #5! Awesome work, as always, Leesia!

candace - WOW WHAT A CUTIE!

Dolly & Michelle - Rufus, what a darling little pup you are and so fortunate to have found such a wonderful home with Tonka and Dixie. The photos are just amazing! So happy for everyone!

Pat Voorhees - Wonderful story and great pictures. Why buy from a breeder when you can adopt great pets/family members from rescue agencies. My two Jacks are both adopted and would not trade them for the world. The last one we drove all the way to Gastonia, Nc to adopt him. He is a pistol and has brought so much joy into our home

Simon - I’m finding it hard not to swear…that is an amazing set of pics Leesia.

Joni Solis - I can see why they adopted Rufus, he gives people those big puppy eyes and they melt! Why buy when you can adopt such a wonder.

These photos are fantastic!

Lisa Britt - What a cutie!! You go Rufus!!

Wet Nose Fotos - I adore these photos Leesia! Especially the double of Rufus and his cute little tongue – to die for! You’ve done it again ;p

Winnie Forbes - I love how you captured what I am calling Rufus’s “What you talkin’ about” look. Head cocked to one side, tongue hanging out and big puppy dog eyes.

Ashley - Oh my, what a CUTIE pie Rufus is! I’m the niece of the owners of this big goofball and happen to know they are on the fast track to heaven with all the sweet furries they’ve brought home & given a blissful forever home to! Rufus is one lucky boy & I can’t wait for my calendar! Tonka & Dixie are little sweeties and love them all dearly. Great shots of the dog clan!!!
